Customer Reviews
Decent Quality, Worthwhile If You Need Them All By
The TRIcrimp tool itself is good for PowerPoles, love it for that.  This kit of dies is decent quality, the casting and finishing are slightly better than is typically found for mid-grade tools like this.  Of course they're not production Tyco/Ideal/Molex/Delphi level quality and precision but they don't come with the price tag either.  The dies themselves are worth the price if you need enough of them to justify the kit price.

The only dies I have an issue with are the D-HEX.  It would be helpful if the D-HEX had dimensions cast in since it was a bit of trial and error and measurements to figure out.  It appears on the 5 cavity set I got they are intended to be as follows.

0.324" (8.1mm)
0.255" (6.5mm)
0.213" (5.4mm)
0.100" (2.6mm)
0.068" (1.72mm)

This means you won't have at least  0.052" (1.3mm), 0.178" (4.5mm) and 0.429" (10.8mm), which are some other common sizes you'll come across.  D-HEX seems intended for RG-58 or RG-6 with F or UHF and will usually lack one you need for RG-174/316, RG-8/213, SMA, N, BNC.

But that's not unusual, it's simply not possible for one set of dies to cover everything after all and so you usually end up with more dies and tools anyway.  So like I say, my complaint is just the lack of markings so you know what you're using.

Extra Dies for the TRICrimp Tool. By
Wish you could purchase TRICrimp Dies in singles and not have to buy entire set just to get the one you want. West mountain Radio sells them in singles. I just hate to have to order from two different stores to get what I need. Fred

Smart buy By
I've used this over a year now and am very pleased with the purchase. You'll find that you can crimp all manor of things with these with a little trial and error such as the M4 connectors that many solar companies now use.

Good Deal By
This is a good deal vrs purchasing individual crimpers. I recently retired and can no longer sign out tools from the shop. After pricing the crimpers I need for the various cables I am always building as a ham This will save me significant $$. The quality of the dies is good and are easy to swap in the handle. Just remember to adjust the tension
