Feature Highlights

  • Valve regulated design with close to 100% gas recombination during float charging.
  • AGM (Absorbing Glass Mat) technology of which the electrolyte is absorbed.
  • Maintenance-free operation - no addition of water to the electrolyte is required.
  • Corrosion resistant high current drain grid achieved by a lead-tin-calcium alloy.
  • Heavy duty grids resulting in high performance and durability.
  • Wide range of operating temperatures with temperature compensated charging.
  • Excellent charging efficiency.
  • Classified as "non-spillable" and therefore exempt from IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Excellent cyclability properties (at normal depths of discharge), batteries may meet or exceed 1000 discharge/charge cycles.
  • Extended service life due to low self-discharge levels.

Applications

  • Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
  • Telecommunication
  • Emergency lighting
  • Fire alarm and security systems
  • Medical appliance
  • Solar applications

Customer Reviews

Four total in production ... By kc9kap@arrl.net
I have two 12Ah and two 26Ah AGM's both pairs in separate Pelican 1600's. The 12Ah are my "always" carry for weekenders. The 26Ah are for week-long trips. Both cases have a WMR PG40S and a 4005. Both cases have an MFJ-4125. The 26Ah case includes a Morningstar PS-15M which works nice with two 65W Kyocera PV's. I run the PS-15M directly to the battery not to the PG40S. Anyway, the batteries perform well compared to my 4yo no-name 20Ah golf carts. I got about 100 duty cycles on the 12Ah (1 year) and 30 cycles on the 26Ah (3 months). I got them very well profiled with the CBAII. Would I buy them again? Yes. Why? They work as advertised, they are competitively priced (though you can get cheaper), and they fit nicely into my mobile plans.

Perfect Portable Station Batteries By kg6bao@earthlink.net
After much research we found the 26ah battery perfect for portable-mobile radio operations and even building APRS beacon sets.  The superb capacity, AGM construction, and dimensions fit nicely in Pelican cases -- we use 1520 and 1400 cases depending on the application.  They're heavy -- what battery isn't? -- but the capacity is well worth the weight.  Never had one leak and no problems taking the equipment on aircraft.  Combine this battery with a Super PWRgate, and you'll never blow a fuse on a vehicle's cigarette lighter connection, yet you'll have plenty of power to run the portable rig at full power (50 watts or so).  APRS?  Beacon units run for days on a single charge.  And, the price is right, delivery is fast.

A Fantastic Deal! By K6JEB@arrl.net
I've been building-out my ham station for portable, as well as emergency use.  I needed some portable batteries that would be sturdy for rugged and varied terrain, as well as the unknowns that come with emergencies.

Obviously the Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) batteries are the way to go since you needn't worry about spillage or explosions if you drop one.

Looking around, you won't find a much better deal price-wise for these batteries.  And if you've done the research, you'll know these batteries are the bees' knees.

I ordered the 7.5 aH 12V batteries, two of them, and they were delivered FAST.  I opened the box and the batteries were well-packed.  I checked their charge and they were near-full.  So I topped-it off with a float charger and the next day, put them into service powering my Packet/Pactor station as well as my QRP rigs and devices.  I suggest using a quality charger.  Ideally, a solar panel would keep it topped-off.  A Whattmeter comes in handy to check the output.

At this point, I want to find or make a suitable case or padded carry bag for them so I can haul everything around in a compact way, ready for deployment, or lunch-hour contacts from out on the glade.
