Customer Reviews
Excellent Radio; DMR brings new life into the hobby By
+ This radio has been a LOT OF FUN! Anyone who enjoys learning will enjoy this radio. The radio responds exactly how the CPS commands it to respond; there is a short steep "San Juan Hill" (learning curve), but once the firmware is updated and the necessary fields in the CPS are completed, the radio performs! My longest analog reach so far has been 53 miles from my QTH to Washougal WA., on 2 meters and 70 CM. Part of the fun with this radio is the DMR capabilities; DMR breaths new life into the ham radio hobby and the people in the talk groups have been VERY accommodating and friendly with new users. I feel there is no need to repeat the few publicized negatives about this radio. I do not believe my Workman 104 SWR Bridge correctly reads the digital outputs; I am not ready to share my bench-test findings, but the analog output bench readings on 2M, 70CM, and 220 are 5/5! Near the top of my favorable review is the Powerwerx customer service; they actually respond to customer inquiries in a timely and helpful manner; this is amazing in today's end-user climate! there are lots of videos on line that will help a new user. I will definitely buy an 878 to go along with this 578.

Great Radio with one Drawback By
I have two of these radios and Anytone makes DMR easy to setup and get on the air.  The one function that the manufacturer needs to implement is AGC.  Hopefully, this will appear in future firmware updates.  KM7KK

Pretty good radio but CPS 1.12 is old and buggy By
The radio seems solid, but the software is buggy. I like the radio. There may be a steep learning curve for new owners. I'm a very experienced radio owner and software user/developer. Yet it took me quite a while to get my radio configuration settled and  loaded.  Hopefully I'll have more positive comments to add after using the radio for an extended period of time.

The D578UV-1.12 CPS software provided from Powerwerx site has a serious bug that prevented saving & reading data files. There is a 1.13 version available elsewhere that may resolve issues, but Powerwerx has not yet updated their download version.

This is the best Mobile on the market By
This is one great radio, and I am so impressed with the staff at Powerwerx.  Scott was very helpful with information and had my unit shipped the same day.  I did have some issues programming and Dave the Tech was very knowledgeable and a huge help.  Some notes on the other review.  I bought the Anytone AT-D578UV PRO is both a Dual band and a Tri Band. It is all how you set the mode.  The dual band version is FCC Part 90 certified.  When you configure it as a Tri band the Amateur 220 band is not Part 90 so then the certification does not apply.  I also download my updates for Firmware and Software on this site.  Powerwerx  who developed the radio with Anytone and is the NA importer and actually takes the time to check and test new updates before posting them on the site.  I will not repeat all the amazing features, as they are well documented here and on you tube.  I love the 1 watt low power setting to work with and not over drive my hot spot. Another great is the full dual receive so you can hear both channels at once.  Don’t wait buy this radio now.  Give Powerwerx a chance, they won’t disappoint! Tim, VE3VTH

Actually an Anytone AT-D578UV PRO not AT-D578UVIII PRO By
Powerwerx mistyped the model of radio as it is actually the Dual-Band AT-D578UV PRO FCC Part 90 certified version, not the Tri-Band version which isn't FCC Part 90 certified. A lot of confusion can be prevented if they fix their item discription. As far as the radio goes, buy it and buy it now. What are you waiting for?
